This week at ArtSpeak Gallery.. “Bridging Gaps” is a collaborative exhibition featuring Windsor-based artists Erin Fyfe and Stephanie Mele, exploring diverse interpretations of both places and non-places. Reception on Friday May 3rd, 7-9pm. Evening will feature DJ Michael Mele and Maiden Lane Wine & Spirits.
Their exploration encompasses the realms of domesticity, offering a unique perspective on shared spaces inviting viewers to contemplate the intricate connections between human experience and the environments we inhabit. The work converges around themes of collection and still life “Bridging Gaps” between humanity’s relationship with both the natural and built environment.
Mele’s exploration delves into human connection through the lens of food, culture, urban landscapes, and collective memory. In contrast, Fyfe’s focus lies in depicting the sensation of detachment through representations of nature, allegorical narratives, and peripheral spaces. This exhibition serves as an exploration of the juxtaposition between unity and fragmentation, as well as community and solitude.
